- TRANSPLANT ANESTHESIOLOGY OPPORTUNITY

DHR HEALTH Transplant Institute consists of a team of physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare providers that provide specialized and compassionate care for kidney, liver, and pancreatic disorders, including kidney transplantation. As the only CMS and UNOS-certified kidney transplant center in the Rio Grande Valley, our team provides patients with the comprehensive care they need to receive a new chance at life.
We are seeking a Board Certified Anesthesiologist with one of the following: 1) Fellowship training in Critical Care, Cardiac Anesthesiology, or a Liver Transplant Fellowship, that includes the peri-operative care of at least 10 liver transplant recipients or 2) Experience in the peri-operative care of at least 20 liver transplant recipients in the operating room, within the last 5 years. Experience acquired during postgraduate residency training does not count for this purpose. Physician must earn a minimum of 8 hours credit in transplant-related activities from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (CME) within the most recent 3-year period. Transplant Anesthesiologist's clinical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1) Pre-operative assessment of transplant candidates, 2) Participation in candidate selection, 3) Intra-operative management, 4) post-operative visits, 5) Participation on the Selection Committee, 6) Consultation preoperatively with subspecialties as needed, 7) Participation in Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Conferences.
