The UTMB Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a Transplant Nephrologist to join the UTMB Texas Transplant Program. The successful candidate must also be eligible to play a leadership role in our upcoming ACGME accredited Transplant Fellowship.
Responsibilities will include provision of care to pre- and post- kidney transplant patients at UTMB, an institution committed to advancing health equity through excellence as a public health system that serves the community of Texas. Administrative opportunities include developing the living donor transplant program, optimizing transplant outreach to the community, guiding the quality components of the program and increasing referrals to special programs in our Transplant Program (example: Weight Loss Program). Special consideration will be given to cultural competency and fluency in Spanish. UTMB is an academic medical center with a very collegial atmosphere, and the physician will also participate in the teaching and training of medical students, residents, and fellows..
Candidate Requirements:
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Program and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship program.
- Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
- A strong commitment to patient care with demonstrated ability to mentor and teach medical students, residents and fellows.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted state of Texas Medical License.
Income Package: Salary will be commensurate with Academic rank, qualifications, experience, and educational background.
